Wet n Wild liquid catsuit matte lipstick in 'Berry Recognize' & Wet n Wild megaglo highlighting powder in ' Blossom Glow'

So, Boots have recently started selling Wet N Wild, a very affordable, cruelty-free American drugstore brand. Although I did giggle a bit at the name (no one else finds it funny!?) I was very interested to try such an affordable brand. Affordable makeup brands often let themselves down with packaging but Wet N Wild have some very nicely packaged, sturdy products. Unfortunately, right now, only large boots are stocking this brand, so I picked up these items online. I imagine it will soon expand to almost all Boots stores, as with what happened with NYX.

The first item I tried was the ‘liquid catsuit’ lipstick in ‘Berry Recognize’.

Honestly, I am impressed. This liquid lipstick retails for the paltry sum of £4.99 and it’s better than some higher end liquid lips I have tried. I have heard people comparing it to Jeffree Stars range. The wand has a slanted doe-foot applicator, which is genius quite frankly, and makes lining your lips a breeze. The formula is extremely comfortable. You can hardly feel it on the lips, but it has great staying power. It wore off slightly in the waterline of my bottom lip while eating, but was very easy to reapply, with no flaking or peeling. My only gripe is the colour. This was described as a berry shade, but on me pulls completely fuchsia pink. This seems to have been a running theme with me as of late, pale girl problems am I right? I will absolutely be picking up more of these to try, but I will make sure I swatch them instore first.

The second item I tried was the megaglo highlighting powder, and can we just take a moment to appreciate the adorable, embossed flower petal that’s pressed into all their highlighters? It makes the product look much more high-end then it is, but like the liquid lipstick, this highlighter retails for £4.99. The highlighter itself has a soft formula, neither chalky nor cakey. It’s very buildable, and lasts well on the skin. The shade I choose ‘Blossom Glow’ is a lovely, metallic peach shade, and looks very nice on my skin tone. This is another product I will purchase more of.

I have a couple more Wet N Wild products on my wish list to try, namely the foundations and blushes. Have you tried anything from Wet N Wild? Let me know how you found it.
