Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in ‘Painterly’
Mac Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour in ‘Dance with me’
Paint pot in ‘Painterly’.
This is hands down my favourite Mac product. The paint pots are slightly tacky, cream-based eyeshadows, that can be used by themselves or as a base. The shade Painterly is a good match for my skin, it’s perhaps two shades darker and slightly peachier. I use it in multiple ways. It’s perfect as an eyeshadow base, the ever so slight gumminess helps eyeshadows cling, and stops them creasing or fading. It’s fantastic as a base for liquid eyeliner, and makes them last longer. It also cushions your skin so liner don’t come into direct contact with your eyelids and sting. Lastly, it’s great by itself, as it completely blanks out any veins or redness and brightens your eyelids. It’s great to smudge on with just some mascara on a no-makeup makeup day. This is my second repurchase of this product. My first pot lasted me almost 18 months, and I wore it every day so I think you get plenty of bang for your buck.
Mac retro matte lip colour in ‘Dance with me’.
This shade was on my wish list for a while, and I’m very happy I finally bought it. It’s a bright, pink toned red. I would say it’s in the same colour range as Nars ‘Dragon Girl’ but pinker. The Mac liquid lipsticks have had mixed reviews, but they are personally one of my favourite liquid lip formulas. Dance with me has one of the stronger formulas of the shades I’ve tried. The doe-foot applicator is easy to line and fill in lips with and there’s no patchiness upon application. The consistency of the lipstick is more of a mousse than a gel or a runny liquid. The lipstick lasts easily through eating and drinking, with just a little wear on the inner lip. I found Dance with me easy to layer, there wasn’t any crumbling or weird patchiness, which I have found with other shades in this range. One problem I did found with Dance with me is it smudged easily but this was easily remedied with cleaning up the lip edges with concealer, as I do with all vivid shades. I really like this colour, the matte finish makes the bolder colour very wearable, and it brightens ups dull winter days a treat.
