Bonny & Buxom

Buxom plumpline lip liner in Anonymous Allure

I mentioned in my last beauty review that Debenhams stocks some makeup brands I’ve not tried before. Well, Buxom is one of them. I picked up one of their plumpline lip liners in shade ‘Anonymous Allure’ a few weeks ago. If I had known how good it was going to be, I would have bought several more!

I’m a big fan of the Nars velvet matte lip pencils. Honestly, I own over half a dozen of them. They're great, but they have one, huge drawback. When you sharpen the damn things, you lose a ton of product. And that shit ain’t cheap. This is where Buxom has saved the day. Like the Nars velvet matte pencils, the plumpline is a lip pencil you can use to line your lips, and, also fill them in completely. However, unlike a traditional lip pencil it doesn’t drag or dry out your lips. The plumpline is as comfortable as a bullet lipstick without that thick, claggy feeling that a bullet can sometimes have. Best of all, unlike the Nars pencils, the liner is thinner, and made of softer wood, and therefore is easy to sharpen. No more wasted product- hurrah!

The actual formula itself is matte and smooth. The plumpline comes with a brush on one end so you can blend out the product. It doesn’t smear, feather, crack or smudge. It doesn’t move when you drink anything, and barely moves when you eat. It’s as close to a miracle lip product as I can imagine.

The colour Anonymous Allure is described as grape on their website. I would say the shade leans towards more of a hot plum. It’s bright but not shocking. I’ve had a lot of compliments on this colour. Even my husband likes it, he said it looked like sweet wrappers (I mean, I think that’s a compliment?). I’ve actually stopped wearing this lip product as I love it so much that I don’t want to use it all up! How ridiculous is that? (Answer: very).

I’m literally counting down the days until I can return to Debenhams or put in an online order and pick up another colour or two. I may have found my new favourite lipstick formula.

Jolly good show, Buxom.
